
Eric Lavoie
(BScN, MN, NP, F/AA)
Eric is a licensed Nurse Practitioner in the province of Alberta. He is a specialist in musculoskeletal pain & injuries having done sub-specialized training at EFW Radiology from 2011-2012 in the area of chronic pain management and interventional pain procedures. In addition, in the last 10 years he has accumulated over 200 Priority 1 American Medical Association credits focusing on ultrasound-guided injections for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain.
He is considered an expert in the field of Regenerative Medicine and Pain Management as evidenced by authoring the chapter on Pain Management for the Canadian Nursing Medical-Surgical textbook by Wolters Kluwer Health Inc., and his speaking engagements, namely at the Canadian Symposium on Regenerative Medicine for the treatment of refractory thoracic spine pain; the Department of Clinical Neuro-Science Pain & Rehabilitation’s resident Academic half-day training; the Department of Family Medicine’s Pearls for Practice conference; the Bill Nelems Pain & Research Centre in Kelowna; and the Canadian Bar Association – Personal Injury Subsection.
Equally, Eric teaches ultrasound-guided injection cadaver courses to physician colleagues through the Canadian Association of Orthopedic Medicine (CAOM). He is a passionate patient and health care advocate who strives to understand the underlying generators of pain and their treatments.
In his personal life he is married to a wonderfully supportive and understanding wife, and has 3 children.
