Simon Smith
(BSc)
Simon is a kinesiologist with experience across clinical practice and gym-based performance coaching, with over two years in clinical settings and more than six years working with clients in gyms. His journey in kinesiology began with a BSc (Hons) in Strength and Conditioning from Limerick Institute of Technology, Ireland, completed in 2015, where he developed a strong interest in movement science and injury prevention. Early in his career, he worked with athletic populations across a range of sports in Ireland before seeking broader experience in healthcare.
Simon gained experience as a Health Care Aide, which inspired him to return to university to further his studies. He completed a BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy at South East Technological University, Ireland in 2022. He later worked in nursing homes, supporting older adults and individuals with underlying health conditions who were experiencing pain and difficulty with activities of daily living. These experiences shaped his patient-centred approach and focus on helping people move more comfortably and improve their quality of life.
Outside the clinic, Simon enjoys exploring coffee shops, reading, trying out new recipes, and hiking. During a four-month trip through Southeast Asia in early 2025, he discovered a love for hiking, which ultimately led him to relocate to Calgary later that year to combine his clinical work with access to the region’s renowned outdoor scenery.
