
Chantelle Poelstra
(MScPT, BSc)
Chantelle (she/her) was born and raised in Calgary, AB. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a Health Sciences concentration, and minors in Kinesiology and Chemistry (2020), and completed her Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, in 2023. With three years of experience in orthopedics, she incorporates a multimodal approach, focusing on exercise and movement, soft tissue and manual therapy techniques, various modalities, and patient education. Chantelle has experience in inpatient and outpatient orthopedics, treating pre- and post-operative hip, knee, ankle, back, and shoulder surgeries, as well as inpatient geriatrics and restorative care.
Chantelle is a strong believer in collaborating with other healthcare practitioners to best care for her patients’ needs and empowers patients to be team players in their rehabilitation journey. She approaches treatment holistically, ensuring patients’ beliefs and values surrounding health are prioritized.
Chantelle grew up playing ringette competitively for many years, during which she sustained various knee and ankle injuries and experienced physiotherapy firsthand. Chantelle especially enjoys treating concussions, knees, and hips, though she enjoys whichever concern comes her way. She knows how it feels to be a patient and is passionate about educating patients on the importance of rehabilitation to improve their quality of life. In her spare time, Chantelle enjoys running, weightlifting, catching a spin or yoga class, hiking, or swimming in a lake on a hot summer day.
