James Shymka
(MScPT, BKin)
James completed his Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Brighton (UK) in 2026 after earning his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. James is passionate about helping people of all ages improve their function, recover from injury, and return to the activities they love. Having gained experience in both Canada and the United Kingdom, his diverse clinical background spans musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.
James prioritizes a collaborative, patient-centred approach to care. He values working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure every patient receives comprehensive, holistic support. His treatment style combines evidence-based practice, exercise prescription, and patient education to create goal-oriented and individualized rehabilitation plans that align with each patient’s goals. James believes effective rehabilitation should help patients understand their condition, build confidence in their recovery, and develop the tools they need to stay active and maintain their progress.
Before becoming a physiotherapist, James worked as a kinesiologist, where he developed a strong appreciation for the role of movement and exercise in promoting long-term health and recovery. He values building strong therapeutic relationships and strives to create a positive, collaborative experience for every patient.
Outside of the clinic, James is an avid runner and hiker who loves exploring new places and staying active with friends and family.
